Golfer Bubba Watson Wins Augusta Masters. Still A Homophobe

Bubba Watson won the Augusta Masters on Sunday, coming back from a serious slump after winning in 2012. The ensuing press has made it clear Bubba is a good old boy—he celebrated his victory at a Waffle House, for Pete's sake.

Not so good? Watson's announcing last year that homosexuality is a sin, which he did in a discussion about out basketball player Jason Collins.

"The Bible says you're not supposed to be gay," Watson told Golfweek in May 2013. "I've met Jason, said, 'Hey,' to him, because he used to play for the Suns when I had the Suns tickets... I'm not saying he's wrong, I'm saying I love him. If he called me right now and said, 'Hey,' or any person that was gay called me, I'd go to dinner with them any time. It's just my belief system on the Bible says you can't be gay. That's a sin. So somebody living in sin I believe to be wrong."

Does Tiger Woods say crap like this?

After his win on Sunday, Watson spoke to USA Today about Caleb, the son he and wife Angie adopted in 2012. "Every day I try to get better as a father. It's like golf, I guess, it takes practice," he confessed. "Caleb has changed my personality, changed who I am, and hopefully made me a better person."

Here's hoping.
