First, Google employees made their own inspiring It Gets Better video back in 2010. Now, they’ve made a new video urging people to vote for marriage equality in the four states–Washington, Minnesota, Maine, and Maryland–where it’s on the ballot in this election. One guy talks about his recent engagement and how hard it is to find a place to get married, while one woman talks about how she has to legally identify herself as “single” on medical forms.
“Civil rights should never be up for a vote,” one Googler says, “but the fact that it is means that we have to get people behind the cause as much as possible.” What if Google had a way to redirect all searches for “Republican party” to a page about how bigotry is dumb? Can somebody get to work on that?
