Google Goes Beyond Lip Service With Captivating Ad About Gender Transition

In a new ad for its "Google Your Business" campaign, the search engine giant profiles businesswoman Hailee Bland Walsh, the owner of City Gym in Kansas City, Missouri.

Walsh isn't just any entrepreneur, as we soon learn: City Gym has become a haven for trans men looking to develop their new masculine bodies. Jacob, one of those men, is profiled in the ad, produced by Venables Bell & Partners.

"I'm excited to get in there and build this body I've always wanted," Jacob says of City Gym.

Walsh says, "there was never an intention to create a space specifically for any group, but what a testament it is to create a space where any group feels comfortable."

What's truly impressive about the ad, though, is that it doesn't pretend to be something its not.  Instead, it demonstrates how a product—in this case, Google My Business tools for small businesses—can be of service to a community.
