GOP Darling Ben Carson Is #SorryNotSorry For Saying Gay Is A Choice

Professional hate monger and Republican presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson has issued an apology for his controversial "prison gay" comments during a CNN interview yesterday morning, comments he claims were — wait for it — taken "out of context."

During the interview, Carson told CNN's Chris Cuomo that he could prove being gay is "a choice" by observing people who go to prison and "come out gay."

"Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight, and when they come out, they're gay," he said. "So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."

After his comments outraged the Internet, Carson backtracked in another statement to CNN, saying he "realized that my choice of language does not reflect fully my heart on gay issues."

He added: "I do not pretend to know how every individual came to their sexual orientation. I regret that my words to express that concept were hurtful and divisive. For that I apologize unreservedly to all that were offended."

But Carson placed the blame on CNN in a live radio interview with Sean Hannity later in the day after apologizing, saying he'll "never do a pre-taped interview" again because his comments were edited and taken out of context.

"I simply have decided I'm not really going to talk about that issue anymore because every time I'm gaining momentum the liberal press says, 'Lets talk about gay rights.' And I'm just not going to fall for that anymore."

Not going to talk about gay rights? Ha. Good luck with your presidential run, Ben.
