The UK duo Graffiti6 is made up of producer TommyD (who’s worked with Kanye West, Jay Z, and others) and Jamie Scott. They joined forces in 2008, picked their name by randomly choosing two words from a book, and started collaborating on what they call “psychedelic northern folk soul.” A pretty accurate description!
Their first hit “Stare Into The Sun” took off across the pond after being featured in an ad campaign for The Sun newspaper. Now, they’re hoping to duplicate the success of their debut album, Colours, here in the US.
I sat down with Jamie to talk about the sound they’re going for, who “Annie You Save Me” is really about, and the graphic artist that he considers a “third member of the group.” Check it out below:
You can download Graffiti6’s debut EP, “Free, on October 11th.
