Grizzly Bear's Video For "Mourning Sounds" Offers Bare Butts, Manic Brides, And Boobies That Shoot Rainbows
It's been five years since Grizzly Bear's acclaimed album Shields but the band is back in a big way with their new album Painted Ruins, which drops Friday. The album's first full video, Neighbors, followed a bizarre surrogate family from a forest glade to a suburban home.
Now the group, fronted by out singer Ed Droste, has unleashed the video for "Mourning Sound," and it only ups the WTF factor in a spectacular way.
Filmed in Paris by director Beatrice Pegard, "Mourning Sound" is described as "a playful, pastel-drenched commentary on women's liberation," with Harry Potter's Clemence Poesy as a tripped-out bride straight out of a Sofia Coppola movie.
There's also a cadre of women dancing around a mansion, naked guys bumping butts, and a woman who fires rainbows out of her nipples.
We're pretty sure women's breasts don't normally do that—right?
Grizzly Bear's North American tour launches November 1 in Boston.
