You've seen the trailer, now get to know the characters and the actors behind them in Guardians of the Galaxy. This is easily the strangest thing that Marvel has attempted to bring to the screen, with characters that almost no one outside of comic book fans know. Plus you've got a green woman, a muscled brute, an animated tree, and a raccoon with anger issues. So let's meet the cast.

First up with have Peter Quill aka The Star Lord, played by Chris Pratt. Half human, half alien, he's theoretically a member of the royal family on his alien father's side. All he has left of his earth roots is his Walkman filled with old music, and he's very protective of it. He also obviously thinks he's a bigger deal than he is.

Next up with have Drax the Destroyer, played by wrestler David Bautista. He's out for revenge, and is pretty much unstoppable. But he's carrying a lot of pain, and may have a good heart, with a couple centuries of therapy.

Groot may be the strangest of all the characters. He's an animated tree, nearly indestructible, and voiced by Vin Diesel, who seems really amused that he's bringing a talking tree to life, even if he can only say his name.

Gamora is an assassin, and a chance to get Zoe Saldana in full body makeup again, although green this time instead of blue like Avatar. She reminds you of She-Hulk, and is possibly more deadly.

Finally, we have a bizarre addition tot he Marvel Cinematic Universe in the way of Rocket Raccoon, who's a thief with some serious anger issues. He's been robbing the galaxy blind with Groot by his side, and is voiced by Bradley Cooper. Frankly he sounds just like Bradley Cooper. And yes, that means unlike the trailer, you get to hear him talk. Or yell. I'm not sure he's capable of a whisper.

That's the main group of misfits that Marvel seems to want for us to take seriously, but the internet wouldn't be the internet unless something weird happened, like mashing up the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy with the role that Chris Pratt is most know for, Parks & Recreation.
