Gwen Stefani Most to Blame for Trump Presidency, Says Michael Moore

Kinda always knew he'd end up our ex-president.

You can blame Gwen Stefani for a lot of things: the popularity of ska in the '90s; cultural appropriation during her Harajuku days; knowing who or why Blake Shelton is. But documentarian Michael Moore says the former No Doubt frontwoman is the person most responsible for the waking nightmare known as the Donald J. Trump prelude to impeachment presidency.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Moore claims, tongue precariously in cheek, that Stefani's paycheck at The Voice led to perhaps the dumbest game of chicken in history.

Stefani was apparently earning more as a performance coach on NBC's The Voice than Trump was as The Worst on NBC's The Apprentice, so he decided to peacock for the Peacock Network in order to show them who deserved the biggest swiveling chair on its airwaves.

Next thing you know he's riding down an escalator at Trump Tower and denouncing Mexicans as rapists and murderers and we're all a little more dead inside.

"He'd been talking about running for president since 1988, but he didn't really want to be president," Moore says. "There's no penthouse in the White House. And he doesn't want to live in a black city. He was trying to pit NBC against another network, but it just went off the rails."

And then the country went off the rails and now here we are.

Sigh. Everything is so stupid and I hate it.

But let's not be too harsh on Gwen. She's given us a lot of good, too. Most notably, this slice of perfection:

I mean, all is forgiven.

Now, if only the rest of the world's problems could be solved by a platinum Marcel Wave and a peek-a-boo nightie.
