If you’re not familiar with Edie Parker, you’ve probably seen their clutches on virtually every red carpet in the past few years…

Paltrow has long sung her praises of hi-hop from the golden 90s to today–she even got herself into some hot water after a cringe-worthy tweet while watching Kanye West and Jay-Z demonstrated her easy appropriation of a certain word.

It’s no wonder that Patlrow (who cites Jay and Bey amongst her close friends) immortalized Jay-Z nickname “Hov” on one clutch option.

And then, of course, Mr. Slim “No homo, bro!” Shady… (or just a nod to being a woman and gay man in 2015?).

We also have to pay our respects to where it all began.
