Halleloo! Drag Race's Shangela Gets Cast in a New TV Pilot with Don Johnson, Chris Crocker!

Shangela may have flubbed the Drag Race hair challenge, but she may have some serious TV-salon time ahead of her! Read on!

She sashayed away -- to a network TV gig, okaaaayyy? Yes, kids! It was a big deal this week on RuPaul's Drag Race when our dear Shangela was sent home... Was it too soon? Was it overdue? Were you pleased to see her prance off? Was it a huge crime and tragedy that she was eliminated?

Whatever... It happened! And now comes news that will have Ms. Shangela Laquifa Wadley's fans and admirers "Halleloo"-ing in a big way. The queen has snagged herself a network TV pilot! Yup, Entertainment Weekly has reported that Shangie (aka D.J. Pierce) has already been cast in a new show starring Miami Vice and Nash Bridges star Don Johnson.

The show, A Mann's World, could get picked up by NBC for a run this fall. In it, Johnson plays a Beverly Hills hairdresser (Okay... wurk!) who's trying to keep his career and glam life afloat, and Shangela/D.J. will play a stylist named "Snip" (Ouch, gurl!) in Johnson's salon. Adding to the kiki factor, Chris "Leave Britney Alone!" Crocker will also play a hairdresser on the show. Festive, right?? Maybe a bit of Shampoo meets Nip/Tuck meets... Oh, hell. Let's just call it "Shangela's Salon Take-Ovah" and be done with it!!!

EW.com also reports that out comic/Sex and the City star Mario Cantone is involved, as is Ellen Barkin (love her!); and apparently SATC's exec producer Michael Patrick King is running things behind the scenes.

Whatever happens -- give 'em hell, Shangela!!!

Now how about some glossy TV gigs for our other Drag Racers??? I'd like to see some of these queens solving crimes, maybe. Law & Order: Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve & Talent, please! Or how about How I Met Your Drag Mother? Wig Hoarders?

Or I can see Alexis Mateo hosting a kids reading show... She's so friendly. Maybe Alexis Dyslexic! It could be bilingual and help "reading"-challenged drag babies!!! BAM!!!

I'll keep thinking...
