Get ready to deck the halls of "The Christmas House"!

Halloween may only be a few days away, but we are ready to fill our stockings and deck the halls for the upcoming holiday season. And so is Hallmark Channel.

This past weekend, the Christmas-obsessed cable net debuted its "Countdown to Christmas" preview special with host Candace Cameron Bure giving us sneak peeks at this year's new holiday titles. The segment included a first look at The Christmas House, Hallmark's first original holiday movie featuring a same-sex couple.

As NewNowNext previously reported, The Christmas House premieres November 22 on the Hallmark Channel. The film stars Robert Buckley, Jonathan Bennett, Ana Ayora, Treat Williams, Sharon Lawrence, and Brad Harder. The official synopsis reads:

Working through some difficult decisions, Wade family matriarch Phylis (Lawrence) and patriarch Bill (Williams), have summoned their two grown sons—TV star Mike Wade (Buckley) and Brandon Wade (Bennett)—home for the holidays. It is their hope that bringing the family together to recreate the Christmas house will help them find resolution and make a memorable holiday for the entire family and community. As Brandon and his husband Jake (Harder) make the trip home, they are anxiously awaiting a call about the adoption of their first child. Meanwhile, Mike reconnects with Andi (Ayora), his high school sweetheart.

“Our holiday table is bigger and more welcoming than ever. This year’s movies reflect our most diverse representation of talent, narratives, and families, including The Christmas House, featuring a storyline about a gay couple looking to adopt their first child, and starring Jonathan Bennett in an ensemble cast,” said Michelle Vicary, Hallmark's EVP of programming. “Our movies are rooted in warmth and positivity, meaningful connections, family gatherings, and seasonal traditions—a winning formula we hope will bring our millions of viewers much-needed levity and holiday cheer at the end of a tough year.”

The clip focuses on Mike calling his parents, Phylis and Bill, who reveal that they are reviving their festive family tradition and ask him to come home to help. The preview shows Bennett's character, Brandon, running through the airport, and viewers get a quick glimpse of his husband, Jake, as they pose for a selfie.

In an additional bonus video, Bennett talked about how filming The Christmas House inspired him to call his family, and he hopes it has the same effect on viewers: "I really hope this movie inspires people to come together and their family and surround each other with unconditional love."
