Hallmark Channel has found its "something new" for the wedding tradition "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."

Wedding Every Weekend, a forthcoming Hallmark Channel original movie, will feature the network's first same-sex wedding. It stars Kimberley Sustad and Paul Campbell, who play two single friends who agree to be each other's "wedding buddies" at four weddings over the course of a month. The ceremonies they attend feature a bi-racial couple, a Jewish couple, and a same-sex couple, Vicky and Amanda, who are played by Carmel Amit and Makayla Moore, respectively.

The preview for Wedding Every Weekend shows Vicky and Amanda at the altar clasping hands in jubilation. No kiss is shown, so it is unclear whether they will lock lips in the actual movie.

"This movie really highlights a real-life, real-world approach to love," Jaime M. Callica, one of the stars, said in a behind-the-scenes video.

"It really reflects the world that we live in now. It is exciting to celebrate love in all its forms," added Makayla Moore, who plays Amanda.

As NewNowNext reported earlier this summer, the Christmas-obsessed cable net came under fire this week when it announced a slate of 40 new original holiday movies that will hit cable later this year, but none of the titles featured an LGBTQ lead character or storyline. According to Newsweek, Hallmark will be making announcements in the near future about “projects featuring LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors.”

Wedding Every Weekend premieres Saturday, August 15, at 9/8c on Hallmark Channel.
