We are in a recession folks and, as such, no one has the loot to run around foolishly spending money on a Halloween costume. The days of being able to drop a fortune of super black hair dye, a prosthetic nose, some tanner and a three piece suit to dress up as former Lehman Brothers CEO Richard Fuld are a thing of the past. And so, we bring you broke-ass Halloween. How to look great and relevant for under five bucks.

Today's costume -- Wall Street Occupant. Sure there are going to be a million of these, but we are going to help you stand out by being not just any Wall Street Occupant, but none other than Gossip Girl Star Penn Badgley.

What You Will Need:

Short Sleeve Tee-Shirt, Jeans and Sneakers (Free. I mean if you don't own these things how do you even have Internet access?)

Side of Cardboard Box (Just head to your local liquor store and raid the dumpster.)

Black Sharpie (Invite yourself to friend's house, go through their drawers, steal one...)

Bicycle Helmet (...then go through their garage and steal one of these.)

Giant Black 30" Curly Wig ($5 online here.)

How To Put It Together:

1. Take marker to side of box and write: BRiNg BACK The GLASS-Steagall ACT!! NO TO CORPORaTe gReeD! MaDe iN AmeRicA

2. Realize how ridiculous the lettering looks but ignore it, it is important to stay true to the character. Also, don't bother educating yourself on the Glass-Steagall Act as Badgley had no idea what it really meant himself.

3. Put on clothes.

4. Put on helmet.

5. Put wig on top of helmet to get hair as big and fro-like as possible.

6. Go be the awesomest part of your Halloween party.

There you have it. Even better, if you have a female friend have her go as Zoe Kravitz. You will be the coolest kids in the room and now, thanks to your costume frugalness, have way more money to spend on some beers being produced by giant corporations.

Happy Halloween!
