Halsey Defends Miley Cyrus From Biphobic Twitter Troll

Cyrus recently split from her husband, actor Liam Hemsworth, and one Twitter user has blamed the breakup on her bisexuality.

Halsey might meet you on the "Eastside," but she's not having your biphobic bullshit.

The "Without Me" singer recently took to Twitter in defense of fellow pop star Miley Cyrus, whose sudden split from her husband Liam Hemsworth made headlines this weekend, just weeks after a story profiling the couple's relationship ran in Elle magazine.

Certain nosy trolls have blamed the breakup on Cyrus' bisexuality, and paparazzi photos of her kissing another woman in Italy only added fuel to the fire.

"#MileyCyrus splitting and allegedly cheating on Liam with a woman confirms that you shouldn’t date bi people," user @theTigerbob wrote. "Not offensive, just true. Bi is greedy and never satisfied."

Halsey, who's also bisexual, promptly chimed in, highlighting another problematic tweet from the same user's feed. "Doesn’t surprise me that ur saying this and ur page has u crying about Brie Larson too!" the singer wrote. "Stop being afraid of women who aren’t afraid to do what pleases them and not other people :-)"

When one of Halsey's followers replied with a tweet that seemed to question her bisexuality, she clapped back again:

It's far from the first time Halsey has spoken out against biphobic rhetoric. Last December, the 24-year-old singer shamed former Victoria's Secret exec Ed Razek for his transphobic and fatphobic comments about trans and plus-size models walking in the company's annual fashion show.

“If you are a trans person reading this, and these comments have made you feel alienated or invalidated, please know that you have allies,” wrote Halsey, who performed at the pre-filmed 2018 show before Razek's offensive remarks were published, . “We stand in solidarity, and complete and total acceptance is the only ’fantasy’ that I support.”
