Women Reduced To Breeding Stock In The Chilling Trailer For "The Handmaid's Tale"

The new Hulu show hits a little too close to home.

The disturbing trailer for Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale is officially out, and it is unsettling, to say the least.

Elisabeth Moss stars in the series that takes place in the dystopian world of Gilead, formerly known as the United States, where women have essentially been stripped of all their personal rights.

Moss’ character is part of a group of "Handmaids" who are forced to bear children for their rich owners' infertile wives.

Although it's an adaptation of Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel of the same name, it's an eery reflection of the current political struggle in the U.S. today.

“We never wanted the show to be this relevant,” Moss told Entertainment Weekly last year.

Samira Wiley and Alexis Bledel costar in the upcoming series, which will make its Hulu debut on April 26.
