Happy Birthday Travis Wall! Ten Times He Soared To New Heights

A tribute to the out choreographer

Since his first audition on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance , out choreographer Travis Wall has mesmerized us with his skill, athleticism, and heart.

He didn't win his season of SYTYCD (he was runner-up), but he used that success as a catapult, joining the show as choreographer in Season 5, and branching out in the last few years, starting his own dance company, choreographing the Off-Broadway show Bare, and working on the Academy Awards and VMA's.

Today is his 28th birthday, so let's take a look at some memorable moments.

His Adorable Audition

Travis was just 18 when he auditioned for Season Two of So You Think You Can Dance in 2006. The judges had a rare moment of lucidity.

This

"Best Friends"

One of the greatest moments in the history of the show was in Season Seven, with Travis' choreography for Kent and Neil as "best friends."

"Wind Beneath My Wings"

That was eclipsed with this gorgeous, haunting routine to "Wind Beneath My Wings," featuring two same-sex couples.

Which Finally Won Him The Emmy!

THIS!

"The Bench"

Travis danced with Heidi Groskreutz during his competition season, in a routine choreographed by Mia Michaels. "The Bench" was not only the highlight of the season, it won Mia an Emmy for Choreography.

"All The Right Moves"

In 2012, Travis and his friends Teddy Forance, Nick Lazzarini and Kyle Robinson teamed up to start the dance company Shaping Sound, and the reality show All The Right Moves followed their progress. Here's one of Travis' finest moments on the show.

"Wicked Game"

In Season Nine, Travis choreographed and danced this stunning number with Amy Yakima to "Wicked Game."

"It's Raining Men."

Because it doesn't get any better than this.
