Actress/model/writer Hari Nef is continuing her reign of slayage by dominating the Gucci runway during her European debut at Milan Men’s Fashion Week.
Nef, who earned praise as Tante Gittel on the latest season of Amazon Prime’s Transparent, hit the runway for Gucci Menswear, further depleting the tired idea that clothing is gender-specific.
Clad in head-to-toe red, the 23-year-old rocked a look from Alessandro Michele’s latest collection for the Italian fashion house.
“When I met Alessandro for the first time, we talked for hours,” Nef tells u. “Press situates both my work and his within a conversation about ’gender,’ so perhaps we bonded over that, giggled about it, wondered at it. He’s smart and funny: An artist. I’m humbled by the opportunity to collaborate with him.”
The first trans woman to be signed to IMG Worldwide, Nef is no stranger to the runway having walked for Adam Selman, VFiles, Hood by Air, Vejas, Degen, and Eckhaus Latta.
She appeared in a campaign for & Other Stories and was featured in a little magazine you may have heard of called Vogue.
Despite success-after-success, walking in Gucci might be the biggest career milestone to date for a woman who appears poised to dominate any industry she so chooses.
