A pair of dapper grooms are giving us wedding-day goals in a photo shoot inspired by the Harlem Renaissance.
Thomas Kiser and Joshua Byrne recently tied the knot and celebrated their commitment with a sophisticated ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Pentagon City.
Speaking to The Washingtonian, event planner Andrew Roby said he knew he wanted to do an old-world glamor shoot with the couple as soon as he entered the room.
“Once I decided on actually putting the shoot into motion, I wanted to focus on the men to give their wedding experience more visibility,” said Roby.
The Jerris Madison Imagery shoot features intimate shots of the couple getting ready, highlights of vintage tablescapes, and the couple toasting and sharing cigars with their groomsmen.
“We pulled various vintage pieces into the shoot such as a brass fan, a phonograph, an old Kodak camera, and even the Cotton Club style font on the menu and place cards,” said Roby. “With a blend of whiskey, cigars and style, I believe our models pulled off this modern version of Harlem Renaissance.”
