[It] was pleasant enough. Not up there with my favorite shows of yore like "Mona McCluskey" with Juliet Prowse or "The Tammy Grimes Show." but Jonathan Groff was charming and looks like a real person. The dilemma of course is that no one show can encapsulate an entire population's experience. Imagine if the only TV show that explored heterosexuality was "Sex and the City?" Oh, there would be an abundance of complaints from farming communities and such. "This doesn't convey my world."

As one who as written pilots for HBO and Showtime, I can only imagine the many development people weighing in with their opinions. If the show had given us a Noah's Ark full of every kind of gay man, we'd be criticizing that it was unrealistic that no group of friends is that diversified. "Looking" certainly didn't reflect my group of friends but then my group of friends tends to be former stage actresses over eighty.
