It's Memorial Day, when we honor the men and women who died while serving in the Armed Forces. It's also Fleet Week, when hundreds of sailors and Marines pour into New York harbor for a little well-deserved R&R. In honor of both occasions, we're presenting a collection of vintage photos of seamen, many unearthed by photographer Alan Light.

"Years after my step-grandfather Jerry Southwick died, I found a bunch of his old Navy pictures in a box," wrote Light. "They are really cool, and frankly a bit homoerotic."

We can definitely see that.
