Over the years, Burning Man has become the nexus point for freaky art installations, liberated partiers and mind-altering substances. We thought we’d seen everything the annual bacchanal had to offer, until now: The Big-Ass Amazingly Awesome Homosexual Sheep (BAAAHS) is a 40-foot-long converted school bus its creators describe as “part mutant vehicle, part penetrable sculpture, part socio-political statement, and part gay disco.”
Guests–who must enter through BAAAHS rear end–will chill out in the cooled-down den inside, while, outside, a DJ blasts party sounds for throngs of balls-tripping devotees worshipping its fluffy, white visage. “You turn around and then you see it–a giant, lucky white, happy, disco, gay sheep!” explains one of the BAAAHS team.
Billed as the largest queer installation at the very gay-friendly festival, this not-so-little lamb doesn’t come cheap: The guys are asking for $10,0000 on Kickstarter to complete the art car and make their “dream of a homosexual sheep a bright, shiny and colorful reality.”
In the clip above, one crewmember describes the experience of encountering BAAHs as feeling “like there’s this big wool blanket wrapped around you!”
We’re not sure if that’s the feeling we want in the middle of the Nevada desert in late August, but this thing sounds amazing!
