A musical about Sir Elton John is set to touch down in theaters next summer.

Described by the studio as an "epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years," the film stars Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Bell (Fantastic Four), Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World).

The first image from Rocketman has just been released, capturing Egerton as John.

Egerton told Collider earlier this year the movie won't be a traditional biographic piece.

"Everyone thinks it's a bio-pic. It isn’t," he said. "It's a fantasy musical, so it's actually [John's] songs used to express important beats in his life at emotional moments."

Rocketman is set to hit cinemas in May 2019.
