72-Year-Old "Hey Mickey" Singer Stuns Dancers With Hip-Hop Routine

Still so fine, still so fine she blows our mind!

The pop singer who topped the charts in 1982 with the hit song "Mickey" is 72 years old now, but she's still breaking it down like she was in her heyday.

Toni Basil's catchy, infectious track was never followed by another Top 40 hit, but the septuagenarian dancing queen got to experience internet fame this week after footage of her moves at a recent Los Angeles dance class went viral.

Basil's flow is impressive to say the least, mimicking the wacky swagger that made the music video one of MTV's most played— ever.

Babson Baba Sy, the French dancer who took the video, told Buzzfeed that Basil attended one of his workshops in July. When he realized the room was in the presence of greatness, he asked her to show off at the front of the room.

"I’ve always been a dancer, and I will always be a dancer," he told BuzzFeed. "Dance has been my lover, my doctor. I know I have my health because of this."

On Thursday, Basil took to Facebook to express gratitude for the support.

"I was so flattered when the great house dancer Babson asked me to dance at his workshop in LA," wrote Basil. "I would like to thank him for the honor. I would also like to thank BuzzFeed for this post of my history and the video of me dancing in his class."
