Highline Park New York United States Sights & Activities

One of New York City’s most beloved and successful local community park projects of late, the Highline turned a rusty above-ground cargo railway that snaked up the West Side (through the West Village and Chelsea) into a truly lovely elevated public park full of greenery, unique city views and cool people-watching.

Head to the highline on a sunny day, or as the sun sets and stroll along for gorgeous views of the city. You can enter on 20th St, 18th St, 16th St, 14th St and Gansevoort Streets; cart vendors sell snacks as you walk along, or just hit one of the cool sidewalk cafes near the park’s lower end.
