Same-Sex Couples Urged To "Hold Tight" In Touching Bank Ad

Do you feel like you have to pull away from your partner in public?

While acceptance of the LGBT community has certainly risen in the past few years, many same-sex couples still don't feel comfortable with the simple act of holding hands in public.

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group is addressing that fear in a new ad that's encouraging gay couples to "hold tight" and not be afraid to hold hands with the one you love.

The spot finds several pairs reaching out to touch each other before hesitating with that all-too-common feeling that it may be too uncomfortable, or even unsafe.

Eventually, one couple pushes past the discomfort and proudly links hands, delivering a powerful message about embracing love.

It's not the first time ANZ has shown support for the LGBT community. The bank installed GAYTMs around Sydney for Mardi Gras in 2014 that would spit out life-affirming rainbow-coated messages in celebration of the event.
