Can it be? Has there really been a cure found for the curse of homosexuality?
Praise Heaven — we think so!
The Cowboy Church of Virginia has discovered that riding cowboys — oops sorry, Freud — riding horses will take away any gay urges men might have.
Southern Baptist pastor Raymond Bell said the church’s Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can “help any person who is living the homosexual lifestyle or involved in it in any way.”
He added, “The first common misconception is that homosexuality is genetic, or hereditary, or as some say ‘born this way.’ Homosexuality is actually a type of addiction. It is not ‘curable’ as a disease because it is a ‘choice driven’ by the person.”
Pastor Bell can also use his therapy to figure out why a person is gay to begin with. Some examples? Low self-esteem, rape, abandonment, lack of a male role model, and abuse.
Dealing with horses will help men feel more masculine, and thus less gay, since those go hand in hand. (No word on how this would help lesbians.)
Guess Bell has never seen Brokeback Mountain.
