If you want to get your point across you have to reach people where they live. So Friday morning HRC is putting ads attacking Donald Trump’s ban on transgender service members on Fox News, his favorite network.
HRC – along with @LambdaLegal, @OutServeSLDN, @GenderJusticeWA, and @LGBTMilPartners – will be airing an ad featuring bipartisan voices calling this policy exactly what it is: discriminatory and dangerous. So proud of my colleagues for making this happen. #ProtectTransTroops

The 30-second spot, which will also air on CNN and MSNBC morning shows, includes a series of quotes from Trump, senior military advisors, and members of Congress members who were in the Armed Forces to make the case that all able Americans should be able to serve.
“An impulsive president tweets that transgender Americans won’t be allowed to serve. But decorated military leaders say there’s no reason to single out these brave heroes.”
HRC spokesperson Sarah McBride told the AP cost somewhere in the five figures.
The commercial airs days after a full-page ad from HRC, Lambda Legal, and other groups appeared in USA Today, supporting the right of transgender Americans to serve their country openly. It also comes one week after the first transgender recruit successfully enlisted in the U.S. military, clearing a battery of medical, physical and physiological tests.
Trump’s ban, first announced in a series of tweets last July, has since been struck down by three federal court rulings. But trans advocates worry the administration could enact a policy that’s so restrictive it would practically be a ban on open service.
On Monday, Secretary of Defense James Mattis reportedly submitted a memo recommending transgender troops be allowed to continue to serve.
