Hugh Hefner may have built an empire on his love of the ladies, but this is one dude who is straight but not narrow. In the September issue of Playboy, Hef called gay marriage "a fight for all of our rights." Team Hef!

“Today, in every instance of sexual rights falling under attack, you’ll find legislation forced into place by people who practice discrimination disguised as religious freedom," Hefner writes. "Their goal is to dehumanize everyone’s sexuality and reduce us to using sex for the sole purpose of perpetuating our species. To that end, they will criminalize your entire sex life."

This is not the first time Hefner has shown his support for gay marriage. While promoting his 2009 documentary Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel, he told the Daily Beast, "The idea that the concept of marriage will be sullied by same-sex marriage is ridiculous. Heterosexuals haven't been doing that well at it on their own."

In terms of heterosexual allies it really doesn't get better, or more heterosexual, than Hefner. The 86-year-old has been married twice, has had five "partners" (most during his second marriage) and has enjoyed the company of countless numbers of pretty young things.  If this straight dude is cool with gay marriage, the rest of you crazies should be cool with gay marriage too.

It should be noted that Hefner also lets his opinion be known of on other issues, including women's health and reproductive rights, in the issue. He closes his letter by saying, “This is a religious nation, but it is also a secular one. … No one should have to subjugate their religious freedom, and no one should have their personal freedoms infringed. This is America and we must protect the rights of all Americans.”

Maybe we should start making some Hefner in 2016 signs.
