Does anybody else want it to be March 23,  2012 tomorrow? If not watch the new Hunger Games trailer, and you’ll change your mind.

We finally have a good long look at the first movie adaptation of the popular series by Suzanne Collins and fans will not be disappointed. Jennifer Lawrence is captivating as Katniss Everdeen as we see the emotional “Reaping” scene where she steps in for younger sister Primrose Everdeen and volunteers to be a tribute in a gladiator-style fight to the death.

The first full trailer of the movie gives us a look at all of the main characters including Katniss’ best friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth),  fellow District 12 tribute Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), pink-haired escort Effie (Elizabeth Banks),  stylist Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) and mentor Haymitch (Woody Harrelson). The chemistry between Liam and Jennifer’s Gale and Katniss is already palpable as they play best friends torn apart and we see the beginning of a connection between Jennifer and Josh’s characters as well.

We are given a lot of footage to whet our appetite for the film; the trailer shows Katniss’ makeover, her training, and the start of the Games. The visual style of the scenes combined with Jenny L’s outstanding acting makes us think the movie will live up to the book series that has already stirred up a passionate fan base. Twilight who?
