Hungry Might Just Be The Most Amazing Drag Queen You’ve Never Heard Of

Start working up an appetite.

There are so many different types of drag. From glamazon to pageant and clown, every queen has a unique look—but no one looks like Hungry.

Hungry is based in Berlin and is known for “distorted drag” that takes eye makeup and turns it into a “batsh*t beautiful” design.

If you are a Bjork fan you probably saw Hungry’s work on the cover of the Icelandic singer’s most recent album, Utopia, where she painted Bjork in the signature Hungry look.

Believe it or not, Hungry actually started doing drag as just another gorgeous queen, but once she arrived in London to intern at Aitor Throup and Vivienne Westwood, she realized the last thing the world needed was more pretty queens.

“So I started dissecting my face, and analyzing the possibilities and the space I had for makeup and experimentation,” she told Paper. “[I treated] it like a sewing pattern and finding ways to make it more technical and, for me, more relatable.

The world has become obsessed with Hungry since she came onto the drag scene four years ago. She has more than 221,000 Instagram followers, was featured on a billboard in Times Square and performed with Drag Race Season 9 winner, Sasha Velour, at her Nightgowns event in Brooklyn. All Stars Season 3 queen Milk is even obsessed with Hungry, telling Billboard that she is “out of this world amazing.”

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
