Drake Bell Says Caitlyn Jenner Tweets Were "Made In Innocence"

Caitlyn Jenner dazzled the world when she debuted today on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. But one former child star just had to make sure we knew he wasn't supportive.

Drake Bell, formerly of  Drake & Josh, tweeted "Sorry... still calling you Bruce," shortly after the VF cover went viral.

Bell deleted his tweet, but not before plenty of folks called him out.

The 28-year-old actor-musician then got a shovel and dug himself deeper into a hole by declaring, "I'm not dissing him! I just don't want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!"

We're not sure why he felt the need to make such a statement—or why he thought anyone would care—but even if Bell was simply misguided, repeatedly mis-gendering Caitlyn and refusing to call her by the name she calls herself is just unacceptable.

"EDUCATE YOURSELF or at the very least, ASK and you will absolutely be taught. INSTANTLY," responded Michelle Visage in a perfectly crafted tweet.

What's Bell been up to lately, anyway? Well his animated movie The Nutcracker Sweet came out this year and went straight to DVD. And his Wikipedia page says  he'll be appearing in Sleepaway Camp Reunion, so there's that.

Hopefully we'll all remember his "legacy."

UPDATE: Bell issued an apology on Twitter, though it's in the "I'm sorry if you're offended" camp.
