Ikea And Toshiba Launch Controversial Gay-Themed Ads: WATCH

A new commercial from Ikea Taiwan has divided viewers over its use of gay stereotypes: In the spot above, two men bid a tender farewell on the street before one is literally carried out with the trash. The other man rushes home into the arms of an attractive twink. It's only in the closing moments that we see the new lover is actually an armchair, as was the old lover. The commercial ends with the tag line  "Admit it: You prefer new ones.".

According to Gay Star News, there's been online debate about whether the commercial is homophobic, for perpetuating the steretype of the fickle, slutty gam man, or is just tongue-in-cheek fun.

And it was just the other week that a new Toshiba commercial in Canada released the spot below, which some are calling anti-gay. Personally, we just think it shined a spotlight on the growing centaur fetish:
