The Garry Marshall-helmed flick saw Roberts portraying Vivian Ward, a young L.A. prostitute who finds her Prince Charming in Edward Lewis (Richard Gere), a wealthy but lonely businessman who winds up falling in love with her. (Because #Hollywood.)

Roberts earned her second Oscar nomination for the role—her first, of course, was from Steel Magnolias.

Everything from Viv's blond bob wig and thigh high boots, to her taking on bitchy sales associates has been etched into American culture for a quarter of a century.

Julia's vibrant charisma, 1,000-watt smile  and infectious laugh are legendary at this point, and it all started here.

To celebrate Pretty Woman, watch a fan-made supercut of Julia's best laughs.
