Iranian LGBT Activist Arsham Parsi To Be Honored At 2015 Logo Trailblazers Honors

Logo announced honorees for the 2015 Trailblazer Honors today, including Iranian LGBT advocate Arsham Parsi.

In 2001, Parsi began the Persian Gay and Lesbian Organization, an online support group for those affected by homophobic legislation and social hostility in a region where being gay is punishable by imprisonment, torture, or in some cases, death.

Since 2008, Parsi's Iranian Railroad for Queer Refugees (IRQR) has responded to countless letters from suicidal teens, helped others receive HIV testing and treatment, and assisted more than 1,100 LGBT Iranians in applying for asylum.

Now living in Canada, he tells the story of his activism and why he was forced to flee Iran in Exiled for Love: The Journey of an Iranian Queer Activist.

Presenters at Logo's 2015 Trailblazer Honors include Raven Symoné, Kelly Osbourne, Orange is the New Black stars Samira Wiley and Lea DeLaria, Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey, Tituss Burgess and Frankie Grande.

Musical guests include Jack Antonoff (above) and his new indie pop group Bleachers, as well as Adam Lambert.

The 2015 Trailblazer Honors air Saturday, June 27, at 10pm.
