Is Sarah Jessica Parker Taking Over For Anna Wintour As Editor Of "Vogue"?

sarah jessica parker vogueSarah Jessica Parker is certainly a style icon, but has the Sex and the City star been tapped to replace Anna Wintour as the next editrix of Vogue?  This week RadarOnline reported SJP was being tapped to step up when Wintour eventually retires (or her cold, dead body is pried out of the accessories closet).

"Anna is worrying colleagues who believe she has found her true successor in Sarah," a source tells the site. "It’s a surprising idea, but one that is not entirely a joke. Anna thinks Sarah, a fashion icon on Sex And The City, truly has what it takes to step into her shoes and take on a role at Vogue one day."

The article, which claims the 48-year-old actress "has totally entered the inner circle" at the fashion bible, added that "Sarah has been consulted on a stunning array of Vogue’s big moves over the last several months."

And the insider says Parker is taking the offer very seriously: “It’s the fashion equivalent of running for president or getting nominated to the Supreme Court and Sarah is treating it that way!”

But a representative for Vogue tells the Daily Mail it ain't gonna happen: "Anna and Sarah Jessica have been friends for a long time and the idea of Sarah Jessica taking Anna's position at Vogue has never been discussed," said the magazine rep.

Parker did, however, probably chat with Wintour about her upcoming shoe line, The SJP Collection, which hits Nordstrom at the end of February.

'I’ve taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the Sex And The City wardrobe, to references to classics styles from the late '70s and early '80s,' she explained of the influences on the line.
