Is The ‘Caviar Manicure’ Cool Or Gross?

Ewwww?

So the next big thing in the ever-innovating world of nail art is “The Caviar Manicure,” which involves using a $25 kit to glue tiny beads onto your nails. The creator, UK cosmetics company Ciaté, has sold out of the kits online, but they’ll hit Sephora in the States in May.

Personally, these nails make us think of either swarming bugs or a horrifying rash, and that’s even before one takes into account their germ-nurturing potential. But in the times we live in now, nobody is going to go broke making something new for people to put on their fingernails. Here’s a video about the process:

The YouTube commenters point out that you can just get beads from a craft store and do this DIY, but we maintain our “But why would you want to?” stance. Just look at this marketing photo and try not to think of disease (hopefully there’s not really a lip version):

A terrible affliction.
