It Looks Like E! Is Going To Cancel "Fashion Police"

The Max Factor is on the wall: The New York Daily News is reporting E! will likely cancel Fashion Police now that both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin have departed.

"They have off this month, but don’t be surprised if they cancel it quietly in a matter of weeks, when the craziness dies down a little," an source told the paper. "Melissa [Rivers] is a producer, not a leader; she can’t get control of the situation."

The exit of half the cast, plus Giuliana Rancic's controversial comments at the Oscars and stars complaining about the mani-cam, have made the show a "hassle," according to this insider.

Right now the show is on an "extended hiatus, ccording to The Hollywood Reporter, with the three remaining episodes scheduled for this spring scrapped.

“With the benefit of hindsight, we definitely brought it back too soon,” said NBCUniversal Lifestyle Networks Group president Frances Berwick. “There was a lot of noise and drama that are really not helpful or additive to the creative process, but there’s a real love for this show.”

But all of this comes after what may have been the show's fatal wound: the death of host Joan Rivers. The caustic comic was able to unite the team, and could weather the brunt of any controversy about her remarks.

Without that guiding force, Fashion Police's demise may have been inevitable
