YOUR FAVORITE LOGO TV SHOWS ARE ON PARAMOUNT+

It's Drag History Month! Celebrate and Get Pumped With Sahara Davenport!!!

On the twelfth day of National Drag History Month, my true love gave to me... An interview with NYC's own gay gazelle, the dancing, prancing, performing and multi-talented Miss Sahara Davenport!!! You loved her on Season 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race as the surefooted starlet who always served up class and style. But that ain't all...

These days La Davenport has her single "Pump With Me" making the rounds, and she's become an in-demand performer kicking up her heels at club engagements from coast to coast. All that, and she's one-half of a drag power couple (her significant other is RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 cast member Manila Luzon); it IS a small world, after all.

Anyway, Darlings... Read on to see what Sahara has to sassily say about Drag History Month, the art of being girly, some of dragdom's most towerings icons... And how being pretty is never a bad thing.

Blonde Ambition: Sahara serves up some platinum hotness!

"Pump" after the jump -- with Sahara!

Awwww, remember when we first met Sahara in the opening of Drag Race Season 2. Cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

In a sentence, tell me why drag is important?

Drag is important because it adds beautiful colors and dynamic textures to a society that is hyper invested in khakis and cotton button down shirts.

Men and women, gays and straights - people loooooove RuPaul's Drag Race. Why do you think people respond to it so positively?

I believe that people respond so positively because they are able to see that there is a method to the madness of drag. They are able to see that these drag queens are actually real people with real stories and they can often relate.

Goldengirl!!!!

Who's your favorite Drag Queen to see perform and why? Who blows your mind?

Cher, of course! I was blown away by the fact that she could even lipsync considering the amount of Botox she's injected around her mouth.

What's the best part about being a Drag Queen?

All of the perks like not waiting in lines, not paying for drinks, all because you're pretty.

As mime goes by...

What's the hardest part?

The hardest part could definitely be hailing a cab at night. It's the worst, especially when your feet are killing you.

How would you describe your look?

My look is definitely fashion forward, but it's edged off nicely with a humongous touch of glamour.

Tell about your favorite number/performance you're doing now? What is it? What make it the best for you?

My favorite number that I'm performing these days is my debut single, "Pump With Me". It's a hot dance/pop song that makes everyone want to dance. It's incredible to be able to sing my own music and look out in the audience and see people singing along.

In addition to her single, "Pump With Me," Sahara got her own Off-Broadway show! Versatile!!!

One piece of advice for the queens on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3?

Not only to enjoy the ride, but to steer and guide as much as you can so that when it's over, you are comfortable where you are.

What would you like to be doing in 10 years?

In ten years, I'd like to own my own television network that features nothing but DRAG!!

Finally, if there was a Mount Rushmore monument for Drag Queens, which 4 queens deserve to be immortalized with their image on a mountainside? Who are the best of the best, past or present???

Marsha P. Johnson, Divine, RuPaul and Sylvester!

It's all in the family, kids! Manila Luzon, A-Lister Mike Ruiz and Sahara on the town.

And... How's the best way to find out what you're up to? And what's next for you?

You can find all things Sahara on my website www.SaharaDavenport.com or on Facebook.com/SaharaDavenport. I'm about to embark on a promo tour for my single, "Pump With Me". Look for me in a city near you.

And here's a bit more of "A Taste of Sahara"...

More Drag History Month interviews are coming your way. Watch this space!!! And get ready to watch the premiere of Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo on Monday, January 24th starting at 9pm ET.
