It's Lisa Ling's First Time At The Gay Rodeo In CNN's "This Is Life": WATCH

The View alum and noted journalist Lisa Ling is no Joan Crawford (or Faye Dunaway): this is her first time at the rodeo. At least the gay rodeo. Ling explores the history and culture of the gay rodeo in the next episode of her CNN docu-series, This Is Life:

You may have never heard of it, but gay rodeo has been a part of Western American culture since the 1970s and 1980s. Similar to regular rodeos with the exception of a few events, it started as a fundraiser for members of the LGBT community suffering from HIV/AIDS.

Ling's story is accompanied by a vintage gay rodeo gallery by photographer Blake Little, who said the rodeo had a full stable of studs, stallions and the occasional clotheshorse.

"Some of the cowboys brought six pairs of jeans in different colors plus matching shirts for a two-day rodeo," Little said.
