Joshua & Jacob on the HX cover: A little summer skin in the midst of autumn.
“OMG—only four days until the Nemesis premiere!!!!!????!!!!”
Did you buy that note of frenzy and delirious-ness in my tone? Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but trust me… In gay TV-land folks seem to be paying lots of attention to the launch of Logo’s new gay-twin rock-band reality show, Jacob & Joshua: Nemesis Rising which looms on Monday, October 16th at 10pm. In fact, tomorrow, NYC’s HX Magazine has the pop-rocking brothers on its cover, and there’s a sassy interview inside that’s got all kinds of nifty dish about the guys’ forthcoming show, their life in the music biz and what they expect is gonna happen as things move along. They also talk about their experience of dressing up for Halloween for the first time (in West Hollywood, no less). Boo!
Here’s a couple of fun bits from the HX piece:
HX: So you had reservations about doing the [reality TV] show?
Joshua: I was loaded with reservations because no other group or artist has done that successfully that I know of. I was worried about our parents. I would’ve been more inclined to do it like all the other artists who have gone before us and played it straight until we were famous enough to come out. But Jacob thought that was the chicken man’s way. [Laughs]
Jacob: Well, I just think it’s silly. It’s not me. And as far as I’m concerned, if you’re going to do something then do it. I’m gay, I’m proud of myself. I have absolutely no issues with being gay. Why would I come out and pretend like I was not. That doesn’t make any sense to me.

Jacob & Joshua inside HX: Giving us sportswear catalog realness.
And then when asked about their individual reputations (Jacob’s supposedly all business, and Joshua’s an alleged “party boy”).
HX: So is it a coincidence that Jacob, “the good boy,” has the blond hair and you have the dark hair?
Jacob: I like being blond. I always have. I’ve been going blond since I was about 15. It just works well for me. And Joshua loves the dark hair and –
Joshua: I like my normal hair.
Ha! I love their constant bickering.
And, if you want to see a TV interview with the guys (done yesterday on the View from the Bay show in San Francisco), you can watch it here! They talk all about coming out to their parents (which happens in episode 2 of the show), and there’s even a little clip of that big moment.

AND… If you’re gonna be in New York this weekend, you can head to Splash in Chelsea on Sunday night and meet the guys and attend a premiere party of the show from 8pm-10pm. Jacob and Joshua will be there, you can watch a screening of the show at 9pm, and the brothers will perform, too (at around 11pm).

See ya Sunday!
