Scissor Sister Jake Shears Announces First Solo Tour, Teases New Song

The South is about to get a little dirtier.

Jake Shears is headed down south this summer.

Shears, who came to fame as frontman and primary songwriter of New York band Scissor Sisters, announced his first solo tour on Instagram last week. He will hit five U.S. cities in June: Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham, and New Orleans.

The gay heartthrob previously shared on social media that he's been in the recording studio and writing new music. He recently performed with Sofi Tukker at Coachella.

Scissor Sisters has been on hiatus since 2012. Shears had his first solo hit in 2015 as a vocalist on Nervo’s “Other Boys,” which featured Kylie Minogue and Nile Rodgers.

Shears also shared what sounds like a snippet of new music. Listen below.

Tickets for the five-city tour are now on sale.
