Jake Shears has been doing a little night work on the side.
On the latest episode of The Masked Singer U.K., the Scissor Sisters frontman was unmasked as the celebrity singer dressed as the “fruity” Unicorn.
Over the course of the season, the disguised performer wowed the crowd and judges with covers of hits by ZZ Top, Kate Bush, and Lizzo. His powerful pipes even prompted the judges to guess he was actor-singer John Barrowman.
But judge Kelly Osbourne was sure of his secret identity when Unicorn dropped a hint that Ozzy Osbourne had “once seen me in my birthday suit.”
The Unicorn is out of the bag! had the best time of my life doing this weird, bizarre, ridiculous show. What other opportunity would I ever get to sing @KateBushMusic @blurofficial @ZZTop & @lizzo dressed as a Fruity Unicorn. Thank you @MaskedSingerUK for the good vibes & fun pic.twitter.com/bOJsfelGF9

Once Shears was unmasked, he was asked why he decided to compete in the series. “It’s right up my alley,” he responded. “It was a no brainer for me.”
After his elimination, the “Take Your Mama” singer swung by Lorraine to discuss his time on The Masked Singer, confirming that wearing that costume was as uncomfortable as it looks. “It was borderline impossible [to move],” Shears told host Lorraine Kelly. “It was really, really hard.”
“I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life,” he added about his time on the show. “It was so weird, and I loved every minute of it.”
