James Franco And Roomie Scott Haze Are Now Apparently "Live-In Boyfriends"

In a recent profile, The New York Times played into and played up the innuendo between noted multi-hyphenate heterosexual James Franco and longtime pal/collaborator/and maybe boyfriend Scott Haze.

Haze, who stars in the Franco-helmed Child of God, met Franco "about a decade ago" as acting students in L.A. and "are now so close that describing them merely as friends would be a disservice," according to the Old Gay Grey Lady. Intending to do service to their intense bromance, the NYT is sure to mention that "the two are also sharing an apartment in Brooklyn this summer."

And then, in case you missed that smoking gay gun the first time around, reporter Jacob Bernstein notes:

By now, it was 12:30 a.m. and Mr. Franco was clearly fading. An assistant pointed him and Mr. Haze to two waiting town cars. Mr. Franco expressed surprise, since they needed only one.

“We live in the same place,” he said.

The article drops off there like a microphone at a Kanye West concert, and so Gawker warmed up its vocals, picked up that mic and sang the ballad of Haze as Franco's "live-in boyfriend."

The media news site also takes the Times to task for its history of "gay panic," but that didn't stop Franco from calling the Gawker article "homophobic" on Instagram. That also didn't stop him from linking to said article and promoting Child of God, because there's no such thing as bad publicity in Franco World. Especially when it has to do with some good, old-fashioned gay-baiting.
