Sinclair Broadcasting Host Resigns After Threatening To Sodomize David Hogg With A Hot Poker

In a now-deleted Tweet, radio and TV host Jamie Allman claimed he was "getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg's ass."

Conservative host Jamie Allman has resigned from his talk show and radio show after threatening to sexually assault Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.

On March 26, Allman, who hosts Sinclair Broadcast Group’s The Allman Report, made threats against Hogg, 17, in a now-deleted tweet: “I’ve been hanging out getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg’s ass tomorrow,” he wrote.

The disturbing message prompted several advertisers to pull their ads from The Allman Report, and eventually led to the show’s cancellation.

“We have accepted Mr. Allman’s resignation and his show has been canceled,” a spokesman for Sinclair told The New York Times. Allman’s radio show on on KFTK in St. Louis has also been canceled.

Hogg has become a prominent gun-reform advocate after 17 classmates were gunned down at Stoneman Douglas High Schoolin February. This isn’t the first attack against him by conservatives: In March, Leslie Gibson, a Republican congressional candidate from Maine, called him a “bald-faced liar.” The comments forced Gibson to drop out of the race.

Just days after Allman’s tweet, right-wing talk show host Laura Ingraham accused Hogg of “whining” about not getting accepted to certain colleges. She’s since apologized, though criticis claim it was just an effort to stop advertisers from fleeing her Fox News show, The Ingraham Angle.

Allman’s resignation comes just days after Sinclair, the country’s largest broadcaster, was slammed for requiring local news anchors to read scripted messages warning against “fake news.”
