Jamie Foxx, Elton John Appear In "Any Given Tuesday," Harrowing PSA For Homeless Gay Youth

Jamie Foxx, Elton John and other stars lent their star power to a public-service announcement for at-risk gay youth that premiered on Saturday.

The clip, "Any Given Tuesday," portrays a gay teen (Noland Ammon) who is thrown out of his house, sexually assaulted and pushed to the brink of suicide. His story is followed by commentary from John and Foxx, as well as John's partner, David Furnish, Lisa Ling, actor James Woods and other notable names.

"In most parts of the country, life is still enormously difficult for kids who are even perceived to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered," Foxx said in the PSA. "One of the most popular destinations for abandoned LGBT youth is Los Angeles, where they hope their dreams might come true," adds John.

Some 40 percent of homeless youth in L.A. are LGBT, and "Any Given Tuesday" was sponsored by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, which provides food, clothing shelter and health care as well as counseling, job training and mentoring. Gay filmmaker Roland Emmerich (White House Down) introduced the spot at a benefit co-hosted by David Geffen, Jane Lynch, and Ryan Murphy.
