Janelle Monáe’s Music Video For “Make Me Feel” Is Here, And It’s Queer AF

Is this Monae's coming out video?

After five long years, Janelle Monáe is back with her third studio album, Dirty Computer. Earlier today, the queen released a music video for “Make Me Feel.”

The video has Monáe walking into a club with actress Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok). Throughout the clip, Monáe flirts with Thompson, while also flirting with a man.

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their joy and speculations that Thompson and Monáe are in a relationship.

Despite the playful depictions of bisexuality, Monáe has kept her sexuality out of the spotlight, simply identifying herself as “sexually liberated.”

She describes “Make Me Feel” as a “celebratory song.”

“I hope that comes across,” she tells The Guardian. “That people feel more free, no matter where they are in their lives, that they feel celebrated. Because I’m about women’s empowerment. I’m about agency. I’m about being in control of your narrative and your body. That was personal for me to even talk about: to let people know you don’t own or control me and you will not use my image to defame or denounce other women.”

As if one Janelle Monáe masterpiece wasn’t enough, she also dropped the music video for “Django Jones.”

Dirty Computer is due out April 27
