Janet Mock Is The Latest Co-Host In A New Clip From VH1's "Daytime Divas"

How does she deal with the ladies of "The Lunch Hour?"

Janet Mock is busy promoting her new book, Surpassing Certainty, and hosting her own podcast, Never Before—but that doesn't mean she doesn't have time to fill in as a co-host on The Lunch Hour.

Mock is the latest celebrity guest to sit-in on The View-esque talk show featured on VH1's new series, Daytime Divas—and she quickly becomes a valued member of the talk show team.

"There is an episode that we do with Janet Mock, who is transgender and just a brilliant writer, an amazing human being. She did a great job on the show playing herself as a guest co-host," series star Vanessa Williams told TooFab back in June.

"Just the content that we're talking about and the sensitivity and the timeliness of it ... that's what I'm most excited for people to see."

In a clip from the episode, Heather (Fiona Gubelmann), who is the show's conservative voice (think along the lines of Elisabeth Hasselbeck), starts a fast friendship with Mock as she enters the co-hosts' dressing room. Heather bombards her with questions about her clothes and her show on MSNBC.

In a new scene from this week's episode, Heather picks Mock's brain some more after they tape their episode, this time the subject of internet trolls leads to Mock revealing what her childhood was like.

"I've been dealing with ignorance my entire life," Mock explains to Heather in the new clip. "It was a different time. Caitlyn [Jenner] hadn't transitioned yet and Transparent wasn't streaming then."

Heather's co-hosts are suspicious of her motives behind befriending Mock, but neither of them know that Heather's child, Brad Jr., is transgender and goes by the name Ella.

"I was lucky. I had parents who were there for me and wouldn't take crap from anyone. Their love is the reason I turned out okay," Mock says in the clip.

Hopefully Heather is writing down some parenting tips.

Below, check out the scene from the episode, airing Monday, July 17 at 10/9c on VH1.
