Get out the cat nip because Mr. Mistoffelees is about to hit the big screen.

According to The Wrap, a movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long-running musical, Cats, is being directed by Tom Hooper and some of the kitties will be played by A-listers like Jennifer Hudson (who won an Academy Award for her role in Dreamgirls), Taylor Swift, James Corden, and Ian McKellen.

Hooper is no stranger to movie musicals. He also directed the 2012 big screen adaptation of Les Misérables, and won an Oscar for directing The King’s Speech. Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) wrote the Cats screenplay, and production is scheduled to begin later this year.

The original production of Cats ran on Broadway for 18 years, and is still one of the longest-running shows in theater history. A revival premiered on the Great White Way in 2016, and closed at the end of 2017.

Are you a Cats lover who will be lining up to sing “Memory” in the movie theater?
