Jennifer Lopez Hitting the Road to Celebrate 50th Birthday

Waiting for July! Oh Oh!

Jennifer Lopez is one of the hardest working entertainers in the business. While most people plan a big party or go on a girl's trip for their 50th birthday, she's going on tour. We are not worthy.

The multihyphenated mogul, 49, made the announcement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing on Wednesday (February 13).

"My birthday is in July so this summer I decided I want to do something big for my birthday since it is a big birthday," Lopez said. "I’m going on a U.S. tour. It’s called It’s My Party. It’s the It’s My Party Tour!”

Lopez says it'll be a short tour with about 25-28 shows running from June to July.

The "Waiting for Tonight" singer has been a long-time ally to the LGBTQ community. In a letter to Billboard Pride during Pride Month in June 2017, Lopez reflected on watching her aunt struggle with her sexual orientation and creating diverse representation on TV with her show The Fosters.

"That is why I'm proud of The Fosters...a show that holds a mirror to society and shines a light on what love looks like," she says of the show she executive produced for five years. "It doesn’t matter your race or sexual orientation. Love is love."

J.Lo also earned ally and auntie points for using non-binary pronouns to refer to her sister's child, Brendan.

“Words cannot convey how much this means to trans/NB people,” one user commented on the post. “To be recognized and seen by somebody with a platform like yours makes all the difference.”

See you on the road, Jenny Lo Lo.
