Absolutely Fabulous has been rumored to be returning more times than the Spice Girls, but creator Jennifer Saunders swore up and down this weekend that an AbFab film adaptation is coming in 2015. “I am writing the film as we speak – it’s in the pipeline," said the Brit wit. “I am hoping it will be released by the end of next year.”

Saunders was at the Hay Festival in Powes, Wales, to promote her new book, Bonkers: My Life in Laughs.

AbFab Co-star Joanna Lumley has long been teasing Saunders has been working on another Absolutely Fabulous installment, and Glee actor Chris Colfer is rumored to be attached to this version.

While at the fest, Saunders also defended her recent musical Viva Forever, which bombed on the West End in 2013. “It was a good idea, of course I was disappointed – had the climate been slightly different, [it might've done better]” said Saunders. “It went on for 10 months and I was very proud of it.”
